So Taguchi and a locked in Albert Pujols homered in the 10th inning to give the Cardinals a hard-earned 8-6 win over the Astros at Minute Maid Park on Sunday. The Cardinals beat the Astros with 4 long balls on Sunday.
The Cardinals had led by scores of 4-0 and 5-4, but they let both advantages get away. Jason Isringhausen held on to the final lead, though, pitching the ninth and 10th for the victory.
The Redbirds had built a healthy advantage behind Braden Looper, who has been their best ...

HOUSTON -- The Cardinals acquired the experienced catching help they were looking for on Sunday when they picked up Kelly Stinnett from the Dodgers for cash considerations. Stinnett, 37, is a veteran of parts of 13 seasons in the Major Leagues.
The Cardinals will be the eighth Major League team for Stinnett, who has also played for the Mets, Brewers, D-backs, Reds, Phillies, Royals and Yankees. He began the year with the Dodgers' Triple-A Las Vegas affiliate but had recently retired to spend ...

Brad Thompson threw 7 1/3 solid innings to help lead the Cardinals to a 7-3 victory over Colorado and a split of the 4 game series. Thompson picked up his fourth win of the season and turned in his longest start of his time in the rotation.
Juan Encarnacion, who has been inconsistent since his return from the DL, ripped a 3 run, 2 out double in the 6th to lead the Cards to victory. Gary Bennett added an RBI single to cap off the 4 run rally.
The Cardinals are in a three-way tie with Pittsb...
