Molina Plays Catch

Catcher Yadier Molina played catch on Tuesday for the first time since breaking a bone in his left wrist on May 29. Molina is still far off from returning to game action, but is taking small steps to recovery. "I feel pretty good the first day I catch. We'll see tomorrow how it is," Molina said. "I didn't hold a bat, but catching for today feels good." Molina said he didn't feel any discomfort in the hand and was anxious to continue working.

Edmonds and Looper to the DL

Jim Edmonds and Braden Looper are both headed to the disabled list. Edmonds is dealing with leg soreness, and Looper left Friday's game with shoulder soreness.

Skip Schumaker and Troy Cate have been recalled from AAA Memphis. Cate was used as both a starter and a reliever in Memphis, with numbers of 1-5 with a 5.40 ERA. There is no word yet on who will take Looper's spot in the rotation.

Wainright and the Cardinals Strike Back!

Adam Wainwright took the mound with one mission, to even the series and put his team in position to take the I-70 series. He did just that on Wednesday night by taking a No hitter into the 6th. Wainright allowed just 1 hit in 8 innings and never looked back. A day after being shelled 8-1, Albert Pujols and the Cardinals tagged the Royals for 7 runs in the 1st 3 frames in route to a 7-3 win.

It's Official--Cards Sign Percival

ST. LOUIS -- The St. Louis Cardinals announced today that they have agreed to terms with right-handed reliever Troy Percival on a minor league contract. The veteran closer will report to Triple-A Memphis where he will continue his attempt at a comeback.

Percival, 37, spent most of his career with the Anaheim Angels before signing with the Detroit Tigers in 2005 as a free agent. He suffered an injury to his right forearm in July of 2005 and, after attempting to return for the 2006 season, reti...

Pujols 2-Run Blast Caps Comeback Win For the Cardinals

Brad Thompson was not at his best on Wedneday but that didn't matter to Albert Pujols. Pujols and Ryan Ludwick hit home runs in the bottom of the 7th to propel the Cardinals to a 6-4 comeback win over the Cincinatti Reds. Brad Thompson went six innings and gave up four runs on seven hits. Tyler Johnson picked up the win, pitching a scoreless seventh. His ERA is now at 1.66.

Taguchi Delivers a Winner

So Taguchi gave the Cardinals a walkoff win in the bottom of the 9th against Cincinatti. An epic, 10 pitch at-bat ended with a base hit to right-center, plating Aaron Miles and giving the Cardinals a victory.

"I was a little nervous, but I just tried to have fun with it," Taguchi said. "I know Albert and Jimmy are behind me, so I wasn't as nervous. If I didn't get it done, they would have."

Todd Wellemeyer didn't do so well in his 2nd start, pitching 3 2/3 innings and allowing 2 runs, look...
