Kozma Named Texas League Player of the Week

The Texas League Announced Monday that Springfield Cardinals' Shortstop Pete Kozma was named the Offensive Player of the Week from May 3-9. Kozma batted .355 (11x31) with two doubles, two home runs, four runs scored and 10 RBI and a stolen base against Tulsa, Northwest Arkansas and Arkansas.

The Cardinals currently have the top two RBI producers in the league with Steven Hill's league leading 26 and Andrew Brown's 25. Kozma currently ranks 6th in the Texas League with 19 RBI.

Springfield will continue their four game series against the Arkansas Travelers tonight at 7:10pm. The Cardinals will send right hander Shaun Garceau (0-5) to the mound against right hander Tim Kiely (2-3) of Arkansas.

The Cardinals will return home Thursday, May 13th for an eight-game homestand against the Northwest Arkansas Naturals and Arkansas Travelers.
